SOJOURN
FULLMOON FARM
There once was a time in the great Smoky Mountains when the howl of the Wolf was a natural part of the ambiance echoing through North Carolina. So where else would you find a place where that familiar howl has been resurrected by numerous people who devote their lives to saving WolfDogs and captive Wolves.
FULL MOON FARM is the loving labor of one woman whose heart beats inside over 70 live animals in her Black Mountain Sanctuary. Hundreds more have passed through on their journeys to new homes because of this one person who networks the world seeking homes, transportation, and support to keep as many distressed Wolfdogs in quality care as possible.

It is estimated that 50 - 80% of all Wolfdogs born each year will be dead or in rescue by their second year. Many others will live out their lives in such deplorable conditions that death would be a kinder alternative. Wolfdogs that come into local animal shelters often meet immediate death regardless of their temperment , age, or wolf content.
Only specialized shelters and sanctuaries, such as Full Moon Farm, accept these beautiful and intelligent animals. You can be a part of preserving and improving life for these noble animals. Through volunteering, sponsoring or donations, you can help ensure that Full Moon Farm will continue to provide for neglected and abandoned Wolfdogs.

"All things share the same breath - the beast, the tree, the man........
The air shares its' spirit with all of the life it supports."

FULL MOON FARM is dedicated to improving the lives of Wolfdogs. They do this in 3 ways;

RESCUE:
Full Moon Farm is often called upon to evaluate animals or to make recommendations regarding handling of cases across the country. Rescue can also, happily, mean a home for an animal, and they work closely with a nation-wide network of people and organizations who do adoptions. This means traveling many miles to check out potential homes and families, and then transporting the Wolfdog to his/her new home.

EDUCATION : The key to a better future for Wolfdogs is understanding and education. FULL MOON FARM is often found at local festivals and events with the outreach table and some wonderful Wolfdogs, helping to turn myth and misconception into appreciation and understanding. They work to educate animal control and wildlife departments across the country. Full Moon Farm is also there to help good owners become better owners, offering advice regarding containment, behavioral concerns, diet and overall care.

SANCTUARY:  Sadly, many Wolfdogs, through neglect or abuse, are no longer candidates for adoption. These are the animals that come to FMF to be given proper nutrition, medical care, love and respect for the rest of their lives. Volunteers work many hard hours improving and enlarging enclosures, providing enrichment, and feeding and watering the residents.

DONATIONS
Full Moon Farm spends over $1500.00 a month to feed the Wolfdogs. That doesn't scratch the list of expenses that are met each month, including Veterinary care, bedding, bones, collars, leashes, buckets and tubs, crates for transport, as they often never come back. Gas prices dicate travel expenses in rescue as the CEO of Full Moon Farm, Nancy Brown puts over 50,000 miles a year on the "Tour Bus".
Each pen averages $1000.00 in lumber, fence, hardware and shelter. Labor is provided by volunteers, or Ms. Brown somehow manages to do it herself.

If you cannot volunteer, FMF needs the following things on a continuous basis.
